Changing or adding poses
You may wish to change a pose or add new poses to your rigged drawing. TVPaint will allow you to do so quite easily by calling up previously saved images from the Image Library or creating additional drawings and saving them in real time in the Library.
Changing or adding poses will require you to be in Animate mode. Make sure the Puppet Tool is set to this mode before proceeding.
Changing a pose
To change a pose, simply right-click on the thumbnail of the Image you would like to replace on the Timeline: a pop-up menu will appear allowing you to Change (the current) Pose. You can also right-click on a bone on the Canvas to make this pop-up menu appear and replace the Image this bone is related to.
The Image Library panel will then appear. Your current pose's matching library subfolder will be opened as well, allowing you to quickly choose a new pose for this Image. Once you have made your choice, simply click on the OK button to apply the changes:

As you may have noticed, a new thumbnail will have been created on the Timeline following the pose change.
Adding poses
Adding a new pose can be done two ways. You can either:
- Add an Empty Pose, which means that you will have to draw the new pose from scratch.
- Create a New Pose by modifying an existing one.
Both of those options can be selected from the Puppet Tool:

Add an empty pose
To add an empty pose at the playhead's position, simply click on the Empty Pose button from the Puppet Tool in the Tool Panel. You will be asked to give this empty pose a name. Once it is done, the current pose will then be cleared. You will now have to draw a new pose directly on the Canvas:

This freshly drawn pose will automatically be associated to the very same bone of the previous pose. You will also notice that it will have been automatically added in the Image Library for further use:

Create a new pose
To create a new pose at the playhead's position, simply click on the New Pose button from the Puppet Tool in the Tool Panel. You will be asked to give this new pose a name. The current pose will then be automatically duplicated in the Image Library and you will be able to modify it:

Those modifications to the duplicated pose will be saved in the Image Library as well in order for you to reuse this new pose later on if needed.
