Erase a layer's content

To erase all of a layer's content, simply:

  • Select all its frames by double-clicking under a frame or choosing the Select All option after right-clicking on one of its frames
  • Click on the Content deletion icon icon or on the "Backspace" key

As we have seen before, the result will depend on the status of the Auto Break option:

  • If on, the selected images' content will be erased, and they will be replaced with empty instances
  • If off, the selected images' content will be erased but they will not be replaced by empty instances
Clear multiple frames

warning

Don't mix up the shortcut keys!

Using the "Del" key will remove your instances from your layer altogether, which is different from erasing their content using the "Backspace" key.

If you have selected all of a layer's instances and then hit the "Del" key, the entire layer will be removed from your project.
