Adding actions

We have seen how to create a Custom Panel and how to save brushes and colors in it.

However, Custom Panels may also contain Actions such as scripts etc. You can create a global Action consisting of a series of actions which can be recalled with a simple click, just like you can retrieve a Brush saved in a Custom Panel.

Adding an Action is done using the Add Action right-click option:

  • The first two text fields let you give a name add an in-line help comment for your future custom Action.
  • The List, Tool and A Color buttons and menus will allow you to choose an icon for the Action you are creating.
tip

You can also add icons to Brushes (through a right-click on the saved brush and the Edit option):

A number of icons are already available in TVPaint:

To add a new icon to the list, you simply have to create a new Brush and click on the Tool button: its tip will serve as a new icon.

The numbered lines from the Edit Panel denote the different actions to be carried out one after the other when you click on the icon corresponding to the global Action you have created:
