Rehost your license on another computer

You can use TVPaint on another computer by rehosting your license. The rehosting process involves deactivating your license from the computer it's been activated on to be able to activate it on another device.

This operation is done from your License Admin Page, which you received a link to via email upon purchasing your license. If you have lost your License Admin Page link, don't hesitate to contact us: we will send it to you again.

  • Rehosting a license can only be done through your License Admin Page link. You won’t be able to rehost your license using the CodeMeter application.

  • Keep in mind that the License Admin Page is compatible with the following web browsers: Firefox, Chrome or Edge.
    Using Safari will not work.

The License Admin Page allows you to deactivate a license through two different methods:

  • Basic rehosting will allow you to deactivate a license by accessing the computer it is currently activated on.
  • Remote admin rehosting will allow you to deactivate a license from any device remotely by logging in using your TVPaint account's credentials.

Basic rehosting process​

Keep in mind that you will not be able to deactivate a license from a computer you have no access to through this method. If you want to remotely deactivate a license, please follow the remote admin rehosting process instead.

  1. Access your License Admin page from the computer your license is currently activated on.
  2. Click on Re-Host Licenses to open the re-hosting page.
  3. Make sure the license you wish to deactivate is selected.
  4. Click on the Deactivate Selected Licenses button and wait for the process to complete.
  5. Your license should appear available for activation.
  6. Access the new computer you wish to activate the license on and follow the installation and license activation steps on this new computer.

Remote admin rehosting process​

This is the procedure you should follow if you want to deactivate a license from a computer you don't have physical access to.

  1. Access your License Admin Page.
  2. Click on the "Log in" button located at the top of the page.
  3. Enter your TVPaint account credentials and log in.
  4. Select one or several licenses to deactivate, click on the Deactivate Selected Licenses button and wait for the process to complete.
  5. Your license should appear available for activation.
  6. Access the new computer you wish to activate the license on and follow the installation and license activation steps on this new computer.
