Layer Stack

The Layer Stack is located on the left side of the Timeline panel:

It regroups your project's layers and allows you to manage them by changing their position, putting them into Folders, merging, splitting, renaming, creating, deleting (etc.) them.

By default, a TVPaint project will open with a single Animation Layer.

Layers can be seen as celluloids (transparent sheets) which are stacked on top of each other and which you will draw on.

The layer located at the bottom of the layer stack will rest on the Canvas Background.

Your final animation will be a result of the blending of those layers.
